These are the privacy practices for Laundrie Pty Ltd (ABN 28 151 940 064) trading as Silent Theory (We/Us/Our!).

We adhere Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

By visiting our website Silent Theory to browse, purchase, subscribe to our marketing, or enter any of our competitions, or otherwise make contact or deal with us, you agree to your personal information being collected, stored, used, manipulated, and disclosed by us as set out in this privacy policy.   We may also collect personal information from third parties including public sources and information service providers.

Your personal information may include your name, and contact details, your shopping preferences, past purchases, your location, your size and gender, your birthday, your IP address, payment, and transaction information (no credit cards are stored).  If you provide information that identifies you, we will only use that information in line these privacy practices (as amended when necessary).

Why we collect

Often, we will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us.

Generally, we collect your personal information to provide, administer, improve, and personalise our products and services to you.

Mostly, we like to promote and communicate our goods through direct marketing, events and competitions, public relations, and social media.  We may also make use of third parties who use cookies to serve ads to you based on your past visits and use of our website. This allows us to notify you of products or offers which we think might be of interest to you!

The website uses cookies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart including when you have abandoned your cart and this information is used to determine when to send cart reminder messages via SMS.

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We may use your information to comply with our legal obligations, investigate any suspicious activity, resolve any disputes that we may have with any of our users, and enforce our agreements with third parties.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.

The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.  

However, we cannot guarantee the security of information you disclose online. You disclose that information at your own risk. No transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is failsafe.

Marketing and opting out

By providing your address, email address and contact number to us you consent to us contacting you for various reasons, including to promote our products.

We may reach out in a variety of ways, including by mail, email, social media, SMS, MMS, and telephone.

If we send you direct marketing or send you electronic marketing messages based on your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, you may, at any time, withdraw your consent or opt-out by contacting us.

You may also use the unsubscribe / opt out facility that we include in our electronic messages (eg email, SMS or MMS) if you want to stop our messages coming your way.

You may have checked the box to participate in our mobile message service.  You agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of us even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list.  Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialling system or other technology. Our messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.) and promotional message and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).

You understand that it is not a condition to participate in our mobile message service to make any purchases.  It’s totally up to you.   

You are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your mobile phone provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.  

Of course, you may opt-out of the Service at any time. Please follow the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions in the Service.   

If you have subscribed to other Silent Theory communication methods/services and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you may need to opt out separately by following the instructions provided in such communications.
